Joy McDaniel Endowed Scholarship
The Joy McDaniel Endowed Scholarship was established in 2022 and is an annual scholarship awarded to students who exhibit leadership in their communities and daily life. Recipients must maintain a 2.5 GPA and be enrolled full-time.
Joy McDaniel became the 20th President of Murray State College in 2011 and the first female president of a two-year institution in the state of Oklahoma. She worked in Oklahoma higher education for more than 30 years, starting as a Business Management faculty and program chair and moving to Vice President for Administration and Finance, a position she held for 17 years prior to her presidency. She was honored with emeritus status in 2021 when she retired and continues to serve the institution as a board member for the Murray State College Foundation. In 2023, she was inducted into the Oklahoma Association of Community Colleges Hall of Fame.
