Friends of Mr. Harold Fogleman
Mr. Harold Fogleman was the most successful livestock judging coach to teach at Murray State College. He was a unique teacher with a concern for his students that extended well beyond the classroom and into the arena of life. His interaction with students always demonstrated respect, wisdom and compassion. Mr. Fogleman’s influential leadership positively impacted every student who knew him. His former students have gone on to become teachers, doctors, attorneys, legislators, college/university staff, military leaders, businessmen, entrepreneurs and successful farmers/ranchers. Many of them attribute their success directly to him and the insightful guidance he provided. Harold Fogleman truly exemplifies the terms, “TEACHER, LEADER, MENTOR, FRIEND.”
Mr. Fogleman taught at Murray State College from the fall of 1967 through the summer of 1977. A collection of his former students have partnered together to fund the Harold Fogleman Livestock Judging Scholarship Endowment in honor of the legacy that he left at Murray State College.
Impact
The Harold Fogleman Livestock Judging Scholarship is intended to recognize Mr. Fogleman’s legacy at Murray State College and to promote excellence in the Murray State College Livestock Judging program by providing assistance to proven judging team members. It will be awarded to support freshman members of the MSC Livestock Judging Team. Recipients must be enrolled as full time students and maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher. This scholarship is awarded near the end of the second semester of the recipient’s freshman year, after judging season is over and is pending GPA and funding availability. The scholarship is awarded Fall only.
